Alarm systems we install

We design the system around how the property is used, then install it so it works every day without false alarms. Every system comes with a full handover and app set up on your phone.

System types

  • Hardwired alarms. The most reliable option for new builds, renovations and commercial sites where cabling can be run cleanly.

  • Wireless alarms. No cabling, fast to install, suited to existing homes, rentals and heritage properties.

  • Hybrid systems. A wired panel with wireless sensors where cabling some rooms is impractical.

  • Smart alarms with app control. Arm and disarm remotely, get instant alerts, and see which sensor triggered.

Components

  • Motion detectors, including pet friendly sensors

  • Door and window reed switches

  • Glass break detectors

  • Internal and external sirens with strobe

  • Keypads, key fobs and app control

  • Smoke and heat detectors integrated with the alarm panel

Home alarm systems

A home alarm needs to be easy to use or it ends up switched off. We set the system up so arming and disarming takes one tap, and we tune the sensors so pets, curtains and heating vents do not trigger it.

What you get

  • A walk through to identify entry points and the rooms that matter

  • Sensor placement that covers the property without blind spots

  • Pet friendly detection where you have animals

  • App set up on each household member's phone

  • Plain instructions for codes, zones and what to do when the alarm goes off

Common home requests

  • Replacing an old alarm that no longer works or has no app

  • Alarm for a new build or renovation

  • Adding alarm coverage to a granny flat, garage or shed

  • Alarm and CCTV together for a holiday home

  • Monitoring for elderly parents living alone

We also install CCTV systems and locks and security doors for a complete home security upgrade.

Commercial alarm systems

Business alarms need to handle multiple users, partitioned areas and after hours access without creating false alarms or callouts. We install and maintain alarm systems for retail, offices, warehouses, medical practices, schools and strata buildings across the eastern suburbs.

Commercial capabilities

  • Partitioned systems so areas can be armed separately

  • Individual user codes with time and date logs

  • Duress codes and panic buttons

  • Integration with CCTV and access control

  • Monitoring options for after hours response

  • Scheduled maintenance and system expansion

Industries we work with

  • Retail and shopfronts

  • Warehouses and industrial facilities

  • Medical, dental and allied health

  • Schools and education facilities

  • Strata, body corporate and apartment buildings

  • Real estate and property managers

What affects the cost of an alarm system?

The biggest factors are how many sensors you need, whether the system is wired or wireless, and whether you want monitoring. We provide a fixed quote after a site visit.

  • Number of sensors. Each door, window or room you want covered adds a sensor.

  • Wired or wireless. Wireless is quicker to install. Wired is more work up front but has no batteries to replace.

  • Panel and app features. Smart panels with app control cost more than basic keypad systems.

  • Monitoring. Self monitoring through the app has no ongoing cost. Professional monitoring is a monthly fee.

  • Integration. Linking the alarm to CCTV or access control is quoted separately.

Do you need a licensed installer for an alarm system?

In Victoria, alarm installation must be carried out by a licensed security business or registered security equipment installer under the Private Security Act 2004. Bond Security Group holds Victoria Police Security Business Registration 895-505-60S.

The practical point: an unlicensed installer may leave you with a system that false alarms, has no support after the sale and may not be accepted by an insurer.

Monitored or self monitored?

Self monitoring sends alerts to your phone and you decide what to do. Professional monitoring sends the alert to a control room that can call you, a nominated contact or a patrol. Self monitoring suits most homes. Businesses, holiday homes and properties with high value contents usually benefit from professional monitoring. We will explain both options at the site visit and quote each separately.

Our alarm installation process

  1. Site assessment. We walk the property with you, identify entry points and high value areas, and check for pets, heating and anything else that could cause false alarms.

  2. System design and fixed quote. You get a sensor by sensor plan showing what each one covers and why.

  3. Installation. Panel, sensors, sirens and keypad installed and cabled neatly. Most residential installs are completed in a single day.

  4. Commissioning. Every sensor tested, zones named plainly, sensitivity tuned to the property.

  5. Handover and training. App set up on your devices, codes issued, and a written summary of zones and what each one covers.

  6. Ongoing support. Battery replacement, additional sensors, upgrades and repairs from the same local team.

Alarm systems and false alarm rules

Repeated false alarms can lead to neighbour complaints and, for monitored systems, charges for unnecessary patrol attendance. We reduce false alarms at the design stage: correct sensor placement, pet friendly detection where needed, and sensitivity set for the property rather than left at factory defaults.

Integrate alarms with CCTV and access control

An alarm tells you something happened. CCTV shows you what. Access control tells you who was there. We install and integrate all three:

  • CCTV so an alarm event brings up the camera footage from that zone.

  • Access control so disarming the alarm and unlocking the door happen with one credential.

  • Security doors and locks because alarms detect but locks prevent.

Areas we service

We service Melbourne's eastern suburbs only, which keeps travel short and response fast. Our area runs from Hawthorn and Richmond in the inner east out to Ringwood and Vermont, including:

Blackburn, Blackburn North, Blackburn South, Box Hill, Box Hill North, Box Hill South, Nunawading, Mitcham, Vermont, Vermont South, Forest Hill, Ringwood, Ringwood East, Ringwood North, Heathmont, Doncaster, Doncaster East, Donvale, Templestowe, Balwyn, Balwyn North, Mont Albert, Surrey Hills, Camberwell, Canterbury, Hawthorn, Kew, Richmond, Burwood, Burwood East, Glen Waverley, Mount Waverley, Ashwood and Ashburton.

If you are outside this area we may not be the right fit, and we would rather say so up front.

Frequently asked questions

How long does alarm installation take?

Most residential wireless systems are installed and commissioned in half a day. Hardwired systems and commercial installations take longer depending on the size of the property.

Can I control my alarm from my phone?

Yes. The systems we install include app control so you can arm, disarm and receive alerts from anywhere. We set it up on your devices before we leave.

Will my pets set off the alarm?

Not with the right sensors. We use pet friendly motion detectors and place them so animals up to a set weight do not trigger the system.

Can you replace or upgrade my existing alarm?

Yes. We regularly replace older panels with modern systems and can often reuse existing wiring. We also service and repair systems installed by others.

Does an alarm need ongoing maintenance?

Yes. Backup batteries need replacing every few years and sensors should be tested annually. We offer scheduled maintenance for homes and businesses.

Is a monitored alarm worth it?

For most homes, self monitoring through the app is enough. For businesses, holiday homes and high value contents, professional monitoring means someone responds even when you cannot. We quote both so you can decide.

Do you service the CBD or other parts of Melbourne?

No. We work in Melbourne's eastern suburbs only, from Hawthorn and Richmond out to Ringwood and Vermont. This keeps our technicians local and our response times short.
